EMPOWER THE PEOPLE, MOUNTAIN VOICES

Mountain Voices is an environmental initiative begun by Dr. Joyce Azzam – an expert conservationist and the first Lebanese woman to climb the highest 7 summits on all continents – Everest Voices is a long-term, large-scale project that is working to establish the best mountain management practices, determine guidelines to keep it clean and have strict regulations in place after the actual physical cleaning has been done. It simultaneously creates awareness of the problem among the international community of climbers and conservationists.  Most of all, Mountain Voices is a collaboration to not just clean Everest but help keep it that way, and to help humanity find a way back to a loving relationship with the mountain.  Dr. Azzam, being a vital link between the academia, the climber community, and the Sherpas, will soon lead a huge clean-up and awareness effort at the Everest base camp, where she, along with the Sherpas, will share with the climbers and companies on what they can do to keep Everest clean.
